Luv’s Interview with Tom Morrissey of :::KILLCODE::: 10-14-08

I would like to thank you Tom for taking the time out for this interview, please introduce the band members and tell us where you are all from.
Tom Morrissey –Vox –NY
Chas – Guitar –Penn
Erric Bonesmtih– Bass- NY
Pat Harrington- Guitar-NY
RobNoxious-Drums-NY
Luv:
How and when did your band hook up and how did you come up with the name :::KILLCODE:::?
Tom:
We’ve been together a little over 5 months. Chas and I had played together in the past. Erric and Pat were friends with Chas from the NY Rock scene and we put the word out to them that we were looking. We found Rob after holding auditions for a drummer.
KILLCODE - is a laser code that is sent to a target post missile strike to assess the probability of KILL......it is the KILLCODE......and in our case probability of KILL is 100%!
Luv:
How long have you all known each other and how did you meet?
Tom:
Chas and I have known each other for about a year and a half, Chas has known Erric and Pat from the scene for a few years and we all met Rob 5 months ago.
Luv:
Have there been any changes since you first started your band or changes you would like to make now or in the future?
Tom:
No, not really being that were a brand new band .The only change we’d like to see is that everyone in the world will know who :::KILLCODE::: is.
Luv:
Who writes the music for your band?
Tom:
Is a total collaborative process
Luv:
Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organizations?
Tom:
No label yet and some of us are registered with BMI
Luv:
Where have you performed and what are your favorite and least favorite venues?
Tom:
Again, being a new band it’s too soon to tell but we’ve enjoyed playing at Don Hill’s (NYC) and the Atlantic City Tattoo convention was also very cool. Collectively we’ve played all over the states and overseas with other bands. Personally some of my favorites have been Starland Ballroom (NJ), Hiro Ballroom (NJ), Majestic Ventura theatre (CA), CBGB’s (NYC), Mercury Lounge (NYC), El Macambo(Toronto)
Luv:
When you perform do you have songs you would perform more frequently? Do you play any covers?
Tom:
We play one cover but you’ll have to check out our show to find out which one.:) As far as covers go we’re into making it our own and not an exact copy. Telling you would let the cat out of the bag as we like to see how long it will take the for listener to figure out what the song is.
Luv:
What genre of music do you consider your work to be?
Tom:
ROCK!! All things that ROCK!!
Luv:
I noticed on your MySpace 6 AM and Truce had a lot of plays, both awesome songs, which is your favorite to perform and why? My favorite is 6 AM
Tom:
I like both equally but “6 AM Again” is special as it was the song that kind of started it all. Where we said “Yea, we’re def’n onto something”.
Luv:
All of you have come from previous bands, what are the strong points do you think of each member that brings your music all together?
Tom:
The song comes first for all of us and we all dig songs with great hooks, musically and vocally.
Luv:
On October 25, 2008 you will be performing at the Rock the Ink Festival-Dunkin Donuts Arena, in Rhode Island with Godsmack, Sevendust and Taproot, is this the first time you have performed with any of these bands or any like them?
Tom:
First time for this band but we’ve toured/played nationally (in our past bands) with bands such as Motorhead, Beastie Boys, Buckcherry, Fear Factory , Crossfade , Kiss and a bunch of others .
Luv:
What arena or stadium would you like to perform at that you haven’t already and with whom?
Tom:
Madison Square Garden with Metallica
Luv:
Do you have any funny stories while performing or on the road that you would like to share?
Tom:
We left Erric in the bathroom at a rest stop and didn’t realize till we were on stage, actually not really but I’m sure they will come. We can be some silly fuckers at times
Luv:
Ok, then you will have to email me and let me know, LOL, and I will blog it!!
Luv:
Out of the songs you have recorded which one would you like to do a music video of and why.
Tom:
6AM Again …it ROCKS and we probably would film it in a bar
Luv:
Before we end this interview, I would like to know your opinion of internet radio?
Tom:
I think it’s awesome as it gives listeners/stations so many options. It’s about time as commercial radio has sucked the life out of rock music.
Luv:
Your music has had a lot of playtime here at NetWavz, the listeners like what they hear, will there be any new tracks released, I noticed on your MySpace you mentioned the finishing touches on a debut recording “To Die For” when will that be coming out?
Tom:
'To Die For' is being pressed as we speak and will be available next week. We plan on going back into the studio with Stacy O’Dell in November to record some more. So yes you’ll be getting some new tunes very soon!!
Luv:
Awesome, we look forward to it; I will hold you to that. LOL
Luv:
In ending this interview, and we really appreciate that you took the time to answer our questions, any last words or thoughts before we end?
Tom:
Thx for the support NetWavz has shown, go buy “TO DIE FOR” and spreads the CODE.
Luv:
We certainly will no doubt about that. On behalf of all of us at NetWavz Radio we wish you much success. Check out :::KILLCODE::: on their MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/killcode
