Bret Michaels To Perform On America's Got Talent

Rocker and winner of NBC's "The Celebrity Apprentice," Bret Michaels, will perform his signature song "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" on Wednesday, August 4 on NBC's "America's Got Talent." Michaels' "Rock of Love" television series is one of the most successful in VH1's history. With three record breaking seasons under his belt, Michaels is currently embarking on several other television projects, including the upcoming VH1 show "Bret Michaels: Life as You Know It" this fall.

Ellen DeGeneres quits American Idol

Comedienne and chat show host Ellen DeGeneres is leaving American Idol after one season on the judging panel.

She said in a statement that while she "loved discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings".

US reports have tipped singer Jennifer Lopez to take over from DeGeneres.

A replacement has yet to be announced for Simon Cowell, who has left to start a US version of The X Factor.

Slipknot Won't Replace Paul Gray A

Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison says the band will continue without tragic bassist Paul Gray, and won’t replace him with a new full-time member.

Instead band members will play bass on new studio recordings, and they’ll look at options for a touring musician when the time comes.

But frontman Corey Taylor, who plays Sonisphere this weekend, is less clear on the band’s future.

Gray was found dead in a hotel room in May after overdosing on prescription drugs.

SLASH Records New Version Of TRIPLE M's Theme Song

To help celebrate Triple M's 30th anniversary as Australia's premier rock station, legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES) recently re-recorded Triple M's Dr. Dan theme after he heard the famous rock riff for the first time when he was at the station's studios earlier in the year to promote his new solo album.

Dr. Dan's theme song was a remake of a track called "Introduction (The Journey of a Fool)" from the album "Tarot Suite" by Mike Batt (1979).

Twilight sequel sets new box office record

The latest film in the Twilight series has broken the record set by its predecessor for takings from midnight screenings in the US and Canada.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse made more than $30 million (£20.1m) from midnight screenings on Wednesday, according to its distributor Summit Entertainment.

That exceeded the $26.3m (£17.6m) New Moon made when it opened last November.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart star in Eclipse, the third instalment in the vampire romance series.

AEROSMITH frontman STEVEN TYLER is set to open up about the heated feuds with his bandmates, which prompted him to briefly quit the group last year (09), in a new book.

The Dude Looks Like A Lady singer admits tension reached a high after he fell off a stage during a South Dakota concert last summer (09). The incident left him with multiple injuries and forced the band to cancel a North American tour with ZZ top.

While he was recuperating, Tyler announced his plans to take a two-year hiatus, and then abruptly quit the group.
